Mikrostruktur butiran dan mekanisme kerusakan pada tingkat butiran adalah faktor utama yang memengaruhi kelelahan logam pada skala kecil. Hal ini dibahas dalam karya ini dengan membangun model mikro-mekanis baru untuk prediksi kelelahan siklus tinggi multiaksial (HCF) pada skala panjang 5-100? m. Model HCF mempertimbangkan perilaku elasto-plastik logam pada tingkat butiran dan parameter mikrostruktural, khususnya ukuran butiran dan orientasi butiran.
